Rooted and grounded1/30/2024 Paul understood that God has given His Holy Spirit to every person who has believed in Jesus Christ (Ephesians 1:13–14), and he understood that the power of God in a person’s life would come through that Holy Spirit within (see 1 Corinthians 12:7). Paul asks this Great One that He would grant the Ephesian believers “to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man” (Ephesians 3:16). This One has riches and glory-another evidence that God has the power to answer prayer (Ephesians 3:16a). This One has the power to fulfill a prayer request, so Paul is emphasizing that this is not an empty prayer, nor is it offered to someone who cannot grant the request. Paul recounts how he is praying for the Ephesians to the God who is the Creator of all of humanity-the One from whom every family on earth derives its name (Ephesians 3:15). Part of Paul’s prayer is this: “That Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith -that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God” (Ephesians 3:17–19, ESV). Part of Paul’s prayer includes the statement that they are rooted and grounded in love (Ephesians 3:17). In Deuteronomy 6:9 Write them on the door frames of your houses and gates. After explaining to the believers at Ephesus the incredible new life that God has given them by grace through faith in Jesus Christ (Ephesians 1:1-3:13), Paul adds that he prays for them (Ephesians 3:14). Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to read this and be a part of what makes this all happen!Įphesians 3:17-19 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height- to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge that you being filled with all the fullness of God. As of writing this, we have 3 full-time employees and have moved the business out of our house and into a commercial building. But within a few months, it had gotten busier than we ever imagined. We started off and thought, okay, we will probably be at this for awhile before we start to get busy. After kicking around some ideas, we decided to start the Etsy shop. We had all the nervousness that you can imagine goes with relocating your family to a different state. During this transition, while waiting on our house to sell, my husband and I would have long talks about what kind of new business we would like to start once we moved. We had to sell our home and current business in Florida. I had only slightly considered it as a potential business opportunity, when in 2017, we felt called to move from Fort Myers, Fl to Sharpsburg, GA to attend a church we had connected with. I wanted to decorate with something that had meaning and could help keep our family centered. I love to decorate but found that, even though our house was "pretty", it wasn't necessarily inspiring. This business was birthed out of a desire to make home decor that was inspirational and would remind me of Truth.
